Now that prices are slowly returning back to normal we get people explaining us that it's because of miners, scalpers and the pandemic (in that order)? Colour me surprised or as they say in my country, it's the discovery of hot water!

A new report from Jon Peddie claims that the current GPU shortage is the result of rampant buying of cards by scalpers and miners, along with severe price gouging by retailers. The report also correlates the insane price hike with the rise of ETH mining.
