For some reason Windows 10 broke turbo boost on my older Ivy Bridge notebook so I decided to diagnose and ended up trying Ubuntu and known stable Linux release that I could test to see if it worked in Linux. The turbo mode worked in Ubuntu so decided to stick with it for awhile since it appears Windows 10 wasn't supporting the hardware anymore. Have not really used Ubuntu since moving to Gnome from Unity. Very impressed with its performance and look. The Software store is slow and clunky in searches though. That really needs to be more responsive.

Though I would have preferred kernel 5.5 or better yet 5.6, but I understand its easier to use same LTS kernel as upstream so it is less work I guess.
