DELL Precision 4800 2 drive bays, 4 RAM slots, 4 USB-SS, HDMI, Display Ports, HDMI, eSATA, LAN port, lighted keyboard, 4th Gen I7, built 2013, under $600 with upgrades, can't make this stuff up...

The M4800 started at closer to 1250, not 600, and could easily hit 3000 with upgrades. It also weighed over 3kgs and struggled to get 3 hours of video playback.

A positive trend? Are you high? It's just a trend to cut costs and scam buyers to pay more for soldered RAM that they can't even upgrade later.

Laptops are getting thinner, lighter and more compact every year. A positive trend – though it sometimes also results in the loss of valued features.
