Where can I find more info on the benchmarks you run? For example, what does AA:T mean on the Tomb Raider one?
Also, what do you guys do with all the the performance and power options there are, like Windows' built in one, Nvidia Control Panel and MSI Dragon Center?

Well this is a good option, slightly better screen, graphic performance and heat dissipation than the GF65, but strangely, the energy management is much better on the GF65 paired with the GTX 1660 Ti, so more economical in the long run for similar performance, if this is at your maximum spending budget limit and your only desire is a gaming laptop than can play any triple A game. I would prefer to spend a few hundred more to have a better screen, color wise and response time, a little less noise also, but if the price is slashed a few hundred dollars, then someone could easily overlook these faults, after all it has a i7-9750H & RTX 2060. Msi is going in the right direction with the GL series and with many other series it seems!

I just bought the MSI GL65 207au version model number GL65 Leopard 10SEK and can confirm the fans are loud even when idle and there is barely any bass in the speakers.  I did go onto the MSI website and updated the Realtek and Nahmic speaker drivers and having the updated drivers did help a little bit but still I consider the speaker sound tinny.  I am glad I did do that because I was going to complain to MSI LOL.  But the new audio drivers and having read this review I understand now and am more accepting.  Especially since if I use external speakers the whole system sounds awesome still.

How to shorten the battery life? Place it in the hottest part of the case surrounded by heatsinks. MSI demonstrated again very poor knowledge of basic thermal engineering principles.

If you don't turn off Intel's Turbo Boost (via registry edit) the i7-9750 tends to idle at full throttle on AC power, so I don't think it's an MSI issue but rather that of the CPU.

Does this model support USB Type-C Alt Mode for HDMI? How can you check if it does?

How can an IPS panel have 55% RGB color coverage? TN panels are literally better (e.g. macbook air 2015 with 59%)

So depite it is heavier than gl63, the number of hot air out decrease from 4 holes to 3 holes resulting in high speed and noisy fan. Don't see any reason for Gl63 8th owners to upgrade. They should give 16inch display in to that superior gl63 for slimmer bezzel and call it a day.

i guess we have a winner in a "worst gaming laptop" category.

The GL65 is a huge upgrade over the GL63 in terms of visuals, weight, performance, and size. On the other hand, other key aspects like battery life, ports, brightness, and display quality have barely changed at all. This $1500 mid-range gaming machine can sometimes feel like a budget gaming laptop at times.
