Good day folks!

Although it is late, maybe there is someone who is searching for refurbished units so i would like to give my two cents. I've owned this laptop for 4 years and 5 months now, and in summary I am MORE than satisfied with what it had to offer.
The spec I have is with i7-6700HQ, GTX 960M, 8Gb RAM and only 1 HDD drive with 1TB of storage.

Firstly I would like to mention that I am a casual gamer and occasionally do photo editing.

So, let's get started. First of all the build quality is decent, but the trackpad and screen overall are a bit trash in my opinion. I would highly suggest getting a 60-90Hz external monitor with a better quality (I promise you won't be dissapointed).

As for overall gaming it's decent, not great, not terrible. You can play games in 2020 at Med, occasionally High settings. But this is possible due to the fact that I've added a M.2280 120 GB SSD, and recently replaced the HDD with a 1TB HP S700 Pro SSD and added another 8GB RAM stick, to make a total of 16 GB.

As issues, and i've seen this common to for this product, my motherboard died 1 year and 10 months after the purchase, but thank god I had warranty and managed to get it changed under warranty, otherwise the cost would have been around 580 EUR to replace. And that's kind of it. Everything else still works flawlessly.

Overall satisfied with the product and I still plan on keeping it 2 more years since I don't have that much time anymore to game and it satisfies my necessities for the time being.

Also, probably it is worth mentioning that if you travel alot like me with the laptop, it is pretty heavy to have it on you the entire day and also if you opt for a backpack, go for AT LEAST a 17.3 inches one because this bad boy is prettly large and will barely fit or not fit at all in 17 inches ones.

Also, as a price reference, speaking now from Romania, prices for this spec ( or 16 GB RAM versions) are around 400-450 Euros, so in my opinion a good value for money if you want a gaming rig with good (not great) overall performance.

your a fool if you do not buy the longest warranty you can get on a laptop are are not standard so the parts can be extremely high priced which is why i added a 2 year warranty to my refurbish unit

I don't understand how your warranty lasted so little time? Usually it's at least two years.

First there is a very annoying problem with dual band WiFi adapter. Did not try in on Linux, but on Windows 10 it is a sheer pain. Constant (and sometimes very frequent) disconnects from network requires notebook reboot in order to get connection working again. Tried each band separately, changed channel on the router, tried at friend - simply refuses to work.

I would like to add 2 issues with this laptop (i have it and i am not very happy):
1. The screen is linked to the Intel video card not to the Nvidia. Nvidia writes directly into the memory of Intel. Therefore you cannot change/play with Nvidia settings. Nvidia is just a randerer and that is all.
2. The wireless is getting disconnected if the signal is weak. I had to buy a USB wireless in order to have wifi whenever i want in all circumstances (as for example in a hotel).

The most common price and configuration for this laptop in Europe is 1280-1400 Euros (final price including tax) and it comes equipped with i7-6700HQ, 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, a Blu-Ray drive and even some nice extra items (a bag, a gaming mouse and a headset, all of good quality) but with 128 GB SSD and 1 TB HDD at 7200 RPM (the model reviewed has 256 GB SSD and 2 TB HDD). This configuration is excellent value for money compared to other gaming laptops on the market.

I'd like to ask you why there is no review to HP ZBook G3 15 or 17 display
there is UWVA IPS 1080p DreamColor display and 4K DreamColor Display and I'm waiting your review to this edition to buy this laptop because I'm really interesting to know the panel type and the difference between G3 and G2, if you don't make a review I'll never buy the laptop, in my opinion the display is the most important part in laptop more important than CPU and GPU and by far you website is the best in reviewing laptop screen,

No IPS after all. There is still some confusion about the panel of the latest ROG device on the Internet. Many potential buyers expect an IPS panel, but the series is actually only available with TN displays. Our review will show whether this is a problem for the otherwise convenient multimedia notebook with gaming ambitions.
