Performance numbers and comparison are just phony bullshit!

For cinebench and witcher tests, line chart shows one numbers (min/avg/max) and bar chart for some laptops shows either random numbers (sometimes event with avg>max wtf?!) or just max score (which is useless as laptops rarely operate on constant maximum frequency). Some laptops are even claimed to be tested with max fan set! This is not only irrelevant for general comparison but also puts its result in favour against other devices turning the whole thing into mess!

The final score for performance doesn't mean anything and is practically useless for comparison purpose!

Cinebench Multi line and bar charts:
Asus Strix Scar III G531GW: Ø1267 (1239.62-1311.65) and 1401
Schenker XMG Neo 17: Ø969 (904.79-1042.12) and 1042
MSI P65 Creator 9SF-657: Ø1439 (1417.84-1545.36) and 1545
So MSI is not 10% faster than Asus but 13.5% based on average?
And Asus is not 34% faster than Schenker but only 30.7% based on avarage.

Witcher line and bar charts:
Asus Strix Scar III G531GW: Ø66.4 (62-71) and 67
MSI P65 Creator 9SF-657: Ø76.3 (71-83) and 80.84
Schenker XMG Neo 17: Ø73.8 (65-79) and 73
Based on avg fps MSI is better only by ~3.4% than Schenker and not 11% based on chart, and faster by 14.9% than Asus and not by 22% according to chart!

WTF&71!? Is all the database on this website complete nonsense?7

So in the review it says that this is an "i9 9880H" laptop. But everything i've found in searching for this laptop indicates that it is the i7 version of it. So which model was reviewed? Also, anyone know when the i9 will be released?

The Asus website says this is per-key lighting and all the promotion imag3s show per key not zone. All the advertising has said per key.  I think you were sent a early demo model. I review should be redone with a retail unit.

I would forever be grateful for a review of the ASUS ROG Strix G G731GU (with the 1660ti), the 'flagship' of the less pricey G series.

Thank you for all the good work!

Alright so with this being so "meh" and the news that Ampere in coming in 2020, they definitely made me accept the idea of waiting longer, this laptop generation is just a major disappointment

ASUS is focusing on more than just RGB lighting with the third incarnation of its ROG Strix Scar. The company has also included a nice security feature called Keystone along with a host of powerful hardware. The G531GW offers plenty of paper, but can it meet expectations?
