Die Shield 2015/2017 läuft mit Android 8 - steht auch so im Quellartikel.

Ich vermute es geht beim neuen SoC primär um zusätzliche Codecs, die vom X1 nicht in Hardware decodiert werden können - VP9.2 für YouTube HDR und evtl. auch AV1.

2015 kam die erste Nvidia Shield TV-Box mit Android TV auf den Markt, 2017 gab es ein Refresh und wie es aussieht, ist bald wieder Zeit für ein Update. In der Google Play Developer Konsole sind jedenfalls Hinweise auf ein neues Modell aufgetaucht, gerüchteweise mit neuem SoC an Bord.
