Abgesehen von Intel scheint die ganze Industrie zielstrebig an effizienteren Fertigungsverfahren zu arbeiten. TSMC hat angekündigt, die Entwicklung ihres 5-nm-Verfahrens abgeschlossen zu haben. Damit soll die Transistordichte um 80 Prozent und die Leistung um 15 Prozent steigen.
