Which ARM chip would it use exactly? SD835 is very ehh performance and cant emulate x64 legacy programs. The SD850, which is a custom built SoC for Win10 with x64 support wont be available until late 2018, early 2019.

An ARM surface device absolutely will come out, one the appropriate SoC is ready.

650 USD is still hilariously expensive for an underpowered tablet when you can buy a used/refurbished ultrabook with a Broadwell ULV CPU for less.

I think Microsoft is aiming higher with this device. I have some doubts that educational software like Matlab or other scientific software students use  would run well on ARM.

Still think ARM on Windows have a future  >:D

Meanwhile, an Snapdragon powered surface device would cost 1 grand with slim x86 compatibility and Atom like performance. But yeah, it is always connected and that makes the difference lol

Microsoft has launched the Surface Go, a US$399 Windows 10 tablet targeted at the students, schools and the entry-level tablet market dominated by the Apple iPad. As rumored, the device is powered by an Intel Pentium Gold chip instead of an ARM-based chip as could have been the case for a device at this price point.
