A Google Maps in China tip: you'll notice when looking at the imagery overlay in China, that the imagery details and the roads overlay don't match up. There's a law that mandates them to be misaligned.

But if you go to ditu.google.cn, the Chinese version of maps, the imagery and roads line up.

Thanks to a partnership with Alibaba-owned AutoNavi, the Google Maps service returns to China, but with a few feature limitations needed to get the approval of the local government.
