I do agree that this review of this type of 'hybrid' LappaDesktop should not be included with actual gaming laptops--It is not a complete and total mobile unit without it's non-mobile gaming card--Nor is that desktop gaming card standing alone a complete unit in and of itself without its cpu mobile case, the laptop--It cannot, and should not, be construed as a complete gaming unit, nor can it be carried from one area to another fully intact, as a complete gaming laptop, on battery, for however long, within its carrying case, and then used as a fully intact unit when needed, on battery, for however long, without dragging along its exterior desktop graphics unit, and one hell of a humongous battery--Are we talking like car battery, or aircraft? This is not a gaming laptop, it has been merely modified to more easily accommodate desktop gpus with mobile cpus devices; which has actually been done many times by many people and companies for many years.
Sincerely, -D.Dacher

That depends on the game, we now got some scores from Lars (from allaboutsamsung.de) and his GS30 with a 980 in the dock. His Witcher 3 scores are on par (and on low even better) than our reference 980 scores with a desktop i7-3770. But Witcher 3 is known to not need a fast CPU.

Would love to see the GamingDock with the Titan X as well as with the 980, just so I could get a feel for how does it compare to high-end mobile gpu... the 980M.

at 11k points over at firestrike, the 970 looks to be performing at about 110% of 980M, which is awesome and all... but, how would the box handle the Titan X or the 980? would there be a bottle neck? how would the CPU effect the performance?

Transformation. Compact subnotebook or fully fledged desktop replacement: The MSI GS30 wants to be both at the same time. Our review will reveal whether the GamingDock model does so successfully or whether it sits on the fence.
