..not really. The problem with the XM5 is that it isn't actually an improvement from the XM4 for many people. Less portable without folding earpieces and an annoying dynamic implementation of ANC which can't be customised...meanwhile being more expensive than before.
No wonder they continue selling the XM4 and don't quite know where to turn next.
The problem with the XM5s is that they don't support Bluetooth LE Audio/Auracast.
One would be a fool to purchase an expensive headset nowadays that doesn't support this new protocol which is going to become ubiquitous as far as wireless audio connectivity goes in the coming years.
A leaker of all things Sony has offered a few insights into the state of its consumer audio division. Allegedly, the company is not planning to deliver WH-1000XM5 or WF-1000XM5 successors this year. While the WF-1000XM6 and WH-1000XM6 may be far off from being released, Sony is said to be planning second-generation LinkBuds and LinkBuds S models in the meantime.
