Big warning about the Pixel 8a. While Google states very broad 5G bands support so you would expect it to work worldwide like any other phone (Samsung, iPhone, Nothing Phone ...), they intentionaly block the 5G service in many countries (by the SIM card origin) where any other phone works. It is more than half of the world now (Latin America, almost the whole Asia, selected carriers in Europe) and Google isn't even providing the exact list of blocked carriers. There is no notice about it on the web site either, I consider it tricking the customers by a false 5G support promise.
The Motorola Edge 2024 is the new premium mid-range smartphone on the block. Although it costs a bit more than the Pixel 8a, one of its main rivals, it has got a lot going for it to justify its price tag.
