Imo it doesn't make much sense to compare a smartphone that launches at 200 euros to the ones that have been long on the market and may have seen a drop in price for whatever reason in the meanwhile. Moreover the u12 life still costs around 300 euros at htc official site, same price for the p smart plus, and the a7 costs about 280. It should also be compared to similar platforms or phones with similar equipment. It's quite nice to see that it competes at least in the cpu department with the 630 powered phones that represented the mid range last year. This means it performs quite smoothly overall, with not demanding apps or while navigating though the ui. The camera is also good in my opinion considering the clarity of details of the test chart, i don't understand why it gets a so low score. The colors may be off but first i find some phones like the iphone x that gives some very yellowish colors but this seems not an issue for any reviewer but i think that is a very mediocre result. Second the clarity and the ability to tell objects apart is primary imo and this is the case. Fast web browsing and a nice display with very low black value, exceptionally high contrast and more importantly an high brighness with strong viewing angles makes it a strong offer if not the best below 200 euros. Yes color deviations are high and color space coverage is poor at 91% but it's always an entry level phone and i think it should have been praised more for its nature considering its performance and the natural price cuts.
