Size matters. Lenovo's 15-inch isn't quite up to par with its smaller business offerings, but perhaps today's configuration—a Core i7-8650U, 16 GB RAM, FHD anti-glare touch display, and NVMe SSD—can help to bridge the gap. We'll find out in our full review!

So many serious "cons" yet it gets an 86. Seems strange.
Out of curiosity, the MSI PS42, although "gaming" oriented, seems to be an extremely good conteder with a smaller footprint and a much smaller price tag. When will we see a review?

"the reduction in consumption relative to the MX150/UHD-equipped T580 configuration"

May I ask whether this reduction includes the power consumption by FHD/UHD? I am curious about the difference between internal/discrete graphics ONLY.

@heffeque,

My apologies about the scoring confusion; the scores are almost purely mathematical in their calculation (and they do rebalance over time as more entries are added in our database). Ultimately, you'll always find more insight through reading the articles anyway, as some things just aren't quantifiable via summary scores.

As for the MSI, it does look cool!  No idea whether it's in the pipeline, but I'll pass along the request to the staff involved in selecting review candidates. Thanks for reading :-)

@John Anderson,

Yes, it's the total power consumption of the machine under the stated conditions. We aren't totally convinced our review unit didn't have some sort of battery issue as well given the bizarrely short runtimes in spite of the lower consumption... but that's another topic.

BugOrNot

In the section Cinebench R15, CPU Multi 64Bit, why did you put the exact Dell XPS 15 9570 i7 UHD, i7-8750H twice with different scores?

Did you mean to compare i9-8950HK and i7-8750H?

I would still like to see an undervolted Alienware 15 R4, i9 and i7 and how the Cinebench R15 benchmark behaves afterwards because this would be the alternative model within Dell and also rivals the Lenovo ThinkPad P52 to some extent.

How does your review photo show two heat pipes when the T580 iGPU model is confirmed to have only one? This makes me question your overall credibility.
