I have been trying without success to attach a usb camera via an otg cable to my s5 neo. App loaded is camerafi.

I wish you had of used the Moto G4 Plus instead of the downgraded Play version. But they do both have 16gb. I just purchased the 32Gb Moto g4 Plus after reading some positive reviews and it was in my price bracket, as is the S5... Im surprised my 3d Mark is so much lower on the Moto! I'm thinking of returning it. But Id be giving up 16 gb of ram and a bigger, quite bright screen. As well as the camera and video is much better in low light situations I think. I'm wondering when Nugaut is released it wont improve the Moto's scores since its more 64 bit friendly? I'm not a huge phone gamer but I don't want a slug either I want a durable phone that will LAST. I like the waterproof S5 for that. The Moto G Plus is just water 'resistant'. Though it does seem sturdy and well made..and the finger print scanner is pretty cool. Any thoughts?

No problem with the battery at all. It has fast charging, power saving option (ultra power saving too), which reduces background apps use. The battery display reports 50 h available in normal mode, 53 h available in power saving mode, 117 h 30 m in ultra power saving mode. It is replaceable battery, however you may use charged powerbanks for extra battery life (they are cheap now). Many apps are working in background and it is wise to disable that for most apps. The latest Android 6.0.1 has also some battery saving features.
Summary: Galaxy S5 Neo has bright 5.1" full HD Super AMOLED display, Gorilla® Glass 3 & oleophobic coating, FM Radio (great for fitness/walking, almost no battery used), micro SIM, micro SD card (64/128GB cards are cheap now), good battery life (removable), IP67 dust and water resistant, great WiFi ((2.4 & 5GHz), the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow version, business class Knox security (worldwide security certification), great navigation (GPS/GLONASS, accuracy 4m outdoors).
Perfect car navigation device with an universal smartphone vent mount and  Nokia Here WeGo, Map Factor Navigator, Scout GPS Navigation apps or Google Maps with offline maps.
Perfect fitness companion with running armband (with Samsung Health or Google Fit or Google My Tracks for more details). You may use Google Maps + Your Timeline for checkup your daily activity/driving navigation history (with Google account for navigation).
Great for full HD video play (any video format). Samsung free 100GB OneDrive offer (for 2 years with any Samsung tablet/smartphone) is great too.

Smartphone video without zoom and image stabilization is not practical. However successfully used during my vacation for video editing (videos from my camcorder) and youtube upload with VideoPad free app. Works great.

You may consider the new Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) with 3GB RAM, 32GB internal, better processor, IP68 certified (dust/water proof over 1.5 meter and 30 minutes), the prices start at €323 (at Amazon de for Samsung Galaxy A5 Gold 2017). A new 2017 version smartphone would be better (2 years support for future Android versions). There is no confirmation yet for Samsung Galaxy S5 (April 2014) Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo (August 2015) to get update to Android 7.
