15-inch reference? The XMG P505 from Schenker Technologies is supposed to close the gap between big 17-inch systems (Asus G751, MSI GT72) and ultra-thin compact gamers like the Gigabyte P34G v2. We already reviewed the configuration with the GTX 970M, now we have a closer look at the GTX 980M.

XMG P505 PRO has 4gb vram and Gigabyte P35x v3 has 8gb vram. I heard 4gb vram is good for today, but not enough for tomorrow. But P35XV3 has the throttling issue which is really annoying. Could anyone give me some advices?

You can get a P35X V3 and put a better thermal compound like AC diamond and put a cooler like an SF-17 under it. With it you will have no thermal throtle and get betewen -5º and -10º degrees celsius.

I will do that. In case you are unconfortable aplaying the thermal compound yourself buy it at xotic pcs, they will put it on your CPU and GPU for you for 35 dolars. You can also customize your PC, i personally will put an extra mSata SSD and take out the standard HDD for a SSD.

I will go to USA in 2 months and i plan on buying the P35X and doing that.

I would like to see a comparison with the new W505 in particular for the outdoor view and gaming performance (the W505 can use up to 8GB GPU).

I may have missed it but it seems the review doesn't mention that all schenker laptop have no DVD or Blu Ray reader integrated. You must buy an external one and this is a little annoying unless gamers starts to sell games in USB sticks rather than CD.
