Vaio has unveiled the Vaio SX14-R and Vaio Pro PK-R as a pair of highly configurable laptops with lightweight and thin builds. Unfortunately, the company has made a rather odd decision when it comes to the processors with which the pair are available.

Vaio designs still look as beautiful as ever even under 3rd party management now, i just wish they got acquired by another company who cared more about pushing their beautiful aesthetics w/ more comprehensive hardware and bringing it back to the forfront of computing. Vaio pushed the boundaries of laptop design back in the day

Already bought it and received it this machine 12.11.2024. highly recommend anyone cherish their design and quality to grab one as your daily laptop.

It is faster than most machines I know, maybe only behind Thinkbook 13x Gen4 with terrifying thermal system.

It scores 263/26xx in R15. 1766/15600cb in R23 plus 12900cb under 30min heavy load, 9600 in battery mode and balance profile plus 9000cb in battery saver. Which is incredible, way way faster than ThinkPad X1. And still give you about 8hours 50% sound and brightness battery

But unfortunately I returned it. $2700 is not a big deal but they used GLOSSY display but told me that was matte. It is cheating and I hope they can train their ee well. Now I have to go through a whole procedure to return it which is really frustrating.
But I would say if they bring the anti-glare model eventually. This is a perfect ultrabook you can grab 2024/2025. And they did offer 10% extra discount for PA residents. Lol, lucky tk me. I grab a SX14 then. Cherish its panel.

Some details you may want to know:
1. Lite model: 51Wh battery and only available in Asia by far. 70Wh battery in all USA model.
2. Sharp IGZO LQ140R1JX52 used, 520nit and quite good color.
3. Mine is SK Hybix LPDDR5 RAM and Pm9A1a SSD which is no complaints at all. Though I prefer my PC711/801.
4. Actual weight:1218 to all USA models.

I bought the Kachiiro version, 155H/64G/2T considering PA discount, a quite good price but returned. What a pity....

Hope all these information help you to know the machine.
