iOS 18 found to reduce performance on older iPhones to improve battery life

Apple finally publicly released the first stable version of iOS 18 earlier this week. While early adopters have encountered bugs like in previous years, it also turns out that Apple is making older iPhones slower to reduce power consumption in some tasks to maximise battery life.

"to improve battery life"... yeah, sure. There is no way Apple is doing it to make people believe their old phones are slow and thus no longer up to the job, is there?

Apple got sued for this anti-consumer behavior in the past. It never learns because the only thing Cook is good at is generating profits for investors.

I'm pretty sure it's an industry wide thing both iOS and Android,for me if it improves and balances performance and efficiency why not ?

But where it degrades performance and in addition messes up battery runtime, that's where it will be detrimental for usage.

Everytime I use my iPhone 15 I am reminded that there are enough dumb people on this Earth who actively chose to buy iPhone. Just a terrible experience on nearly everything.

For example it took me 15minutes to take a photo of the moon because of the lack of controls and the auto mode being too dumb to know what it is shooting. My old Android phone gave me a shot in 1minute as it was dead easy due to manual mode.

Fortunately I didnt pay for this phone.

Do you even believe what you say? In the article pictures A17 pro is the iPhone15 Pro, it is not even 1 year old for the majority of users. What possible need is there for balancing performance and efficiency. there should be no battery degradation unless you are a complete outlier user doing constant charging cycles daily.
