US Department of Commerce bans Kaspersky from selling to Americans starting July 20th

The US Department of Commerce will ban Kaspersky in America beginning July 20, 2024. The ban under Information and Communications Technology and Services regulations will effectively prevent Kaspersky from selling and updating products such as its popular antivirus software to Americans.

If you STILL think that you need some type of so-called anti-measure crap from any of these companies (and many of these so-called  Security companies companies [if not all] have even failed to protect themselves from any intrusion 😏) to ALLEGEDLY stop attacks for you/your business... change your habits... Readers who are using Kaspersky can give other government security agencies their data by switching to top-rated alternatives such as Bitdefender, ESET, or Norton or going cold-turkey with Apple Macs.

Can I switch to an alternative and also not give any government security agencies my data? Or is it impossible now with all antimalware software? :)

It's funny how stupid (or criminal in their unprofessionalism) the American authorities are that they hesitated for so many years to ban this blatant spyware. Even the majority of reasonable Russians have always avoided Kaspersky products, which are clearly affiliated with the FSB and, in general, completely useless for the stated purposes.

How idiotic does an adult have to be to install "antivirus" software from any company in the world in 2024? It is quite obvious that this software does not solve the assigned problems, but it definitely solves one key problem - to milk fools for money through a permanent subscription and extract private data from them, to the benefit of the owners of these "products".

Antivirus makers routinely share info on the most dangerous viruses with each other anyways. Windows Defender has access to that data, too.

The question is not what data is being collected  [this is not news to many].
The question is WHO collects.
If you live honestly, then you can change less if the FBI collects data.
Especially if the Government is for you, as for a citizen often.

But if terrorist countries collect your data. This is definitely "shooting yourself in the foot".

Big companies still use them because of the central management they corporate offerings give. But for most regular people, as long as you aren't downloading illegal software or going to shady websites. The default windows defender is more than good enough

My Linux pc doesn't, I can tell because I can monitor all data going in and out

The US immediately bans Kaspersky.
