The Dell UltraSharp 38 (U3824DW) has landed in Europe and the UK. Also available in North America for over $400 less than its launch price, the UltraSharp 38 (U3824DW) features a dozen ports, including nine USB connections, and a high-resolution panel with a 2,000:1 contrast ratio thanks to IPS Black technology.

And why am I not surprised by the rapid drop in price?

This is an ordinary, cheap monitor with an extremely low ppi, which will make your eyes water from the pixelation of text and graphics.

It doesn't even claim 99% AdobeRGB, like cheaper monitors.

I would ask Dell, where is 8K resolution in 2024? But Dell will answer me fairly, where are the video cards and laptops with DisplayPort 2.0+ in UHBR20 mode, sir? And who is the culprit of this universal disgrace with the quality of text and graphics for the past 5 years? NVidia, AMD, Intel - throw darts at them... these disgraceful companies cannot release video cards with DP2.0+/UHBR20 support in the mass segment for 5 years, although the DP2.0 standard was published in 2019...

Great screen with excellent selection of ports and 90W PD. It will be a very good buy on some 20%+ discount (Black Friday and similar stuff).

At least it got 21:9 1600 vertical resolution which is so much more practical for work at home stuff compared to all the new 1400 ones, beats ppi at a practical level but sure higher ppi would be nice (btw. This is not a 2024 model).

Seems like Dell just offloaded those unsold monitors to Europe (while initially not intending to sell them in those markets). There is no other explanation for bringing a last year's monitor just as new models are being shipped.
But this indeed looks a good fit for work purposes some don't like OLEDs for text; it is taller than other widescreens; the PPI is decent - with 100% scaling it should look just right.

Still to expensive :(
