This article is also wrong about a few things, which might help clear it up.
The Steam Deck, which IS the dominant handheld, runs Linux as well, but is also the weakest, spec-wise, of these handhelds. Many of the others are competing to be "the Deck killer", but often have some minor issues or are just too expensive to really make that work.
Deck has only 16GB of memory, this has 32. And the Deck screen is only 1280x800 (800p). The article said that the 1200p of this device was the same as Valve's machine, but it's a higher resolution.
FRANKLY, I think it's a waste. The higher resolution doesn't make as big of a difference on the smaller screen, but Steam Deck's lower resolution let's them get a lot better performance with their hardware and, most importantly to many, VERY good battery life out of their device.
