Zeiss has finally responded to rumours that it has abandoned the photography lens market for good. While the brand will remain active in the dedicated camera market for the foreseeable future, it also noted that there has been an irreversible shift in the market thanks to smartphones and the pandemic.

Ho can a company that has not released a consumer camera lens in at least 5 years be still committed to something they are clearly not committed too. Let's be clear Zeiss long ago abandoned consumer lenses for the lucrative cinema market where they charge $60K+ for a lens. Zeiss is frankly lying through their teeth with this PR spin.
