I wrote a long time ago that NB has a problem with the unification of the rating scale in each review, because. they are written by different people, with different qualifications and different access to test equipment. Hence the mess. But I also read other sites and communicate with the authors of their reviews, bit by bit collecting information from everyone. Including laptop owners in various forums. Unfortunately, this is not always possible, and even more so quickly. Sometimes it turns out to make a direct request to the manufacturer. Sometimes they answer on the merits, sometimes a stupid reply, sometimes they don't answer. Approximately only 1 laptop owner out of 20-30 is ready to answer questions in advanced mode. There is no time for everyone, everyone solves only their own private problems. As always. With mutual assistance on the forums, everything is bad.
Unfortunately, unified complex tests of all ports and hardware require complex and lengthy testing. For example, the feel of the keyboard requires measuring the required pressure on the keys to actuate in numbers, and not the subjective feeling of the reviewers. The viewing angles of the screen require contrast and brightness drop sensors and specific numbers in the review, but NB also does not do such digital tests, relying on the opinions of reviewers, different people and citing photos (and you need not photos, but at least a video of how it falls - at a fixed exposition for a video camera, which requires professional video equipment)
Etc. and so on...
And all this should somehow pay off if the site is commercial, because keeping the laboratories up to date requires a lot of money. Especially if the authors are from different countries or cities.
Unfortunately, there is no independent super-laboratory for laptops (as well as for other goods) on the planet (well, except that someone like Ilon will do this with his own money;)), which can easily quickly buy in retail and check (moreover, with double-checking by the time of different batches) all the models that are interesting to consumers, without waiting for sponsors and favors from manufacturers (which is quite bad in terms of the purity of the check). And there are at least a few dozen of them every year, and this must be done quickly enough, while they are still relevant and in high demand. Of course, the owners' forums help, but as my more than 20 years of practice in such forums has shown, there are always less than 5% of competent people, quite inquisitive and with a good understanding of hardware, software and just a decent education. Therefore, 95% of what is written on the forums is useless garbage.
NB is one of the best review sites on the planet, if not the best, but it has room to move on a lot of review claims...
