AUO to launch a slew of new high refresh rate gaming panels, including a 540 Hz option

AUO is alleged to be working on at least three new panel types for Esports gamers. Reputedly, the company is developing 4K/240 Hz and 2K/360 Hz options, plus a 540 Hz panel that would outpace ASUS's new ROG Swift 500 Hz.

While having 540 FPS on 540 Hz monitory would be nice, having 240 FPS on 540 Hz monitor might be better than having 240 FPS on 240 Hz monitor. It's not only about matching HZ and FPS, but also about faster response time, lower input lag. 120 FPS on 240 Hz is better than 120 FPS on 120 Hz monitor right now. Please, don't spread such misconceptions as "having 350 FPS in Esports games, negates the need for a 540 Hz monitor altogether.

That's interesting. I'd like to see Hardware Unboxed or another reviewer look into that. But the improvements have to be weighed against the price and being stuck at 1080p.

Interesting. Do we know if this is 2K (~2048x...) or the ol' '2K'-mismarket (2.5K 2560x...)

EDIT: The video does right referring to QHD as 2.5K. I wonder what the website is referring to by 2K.

Neat hardware, even if it does continue to be a shame we aren't seeing more taller aspect ratios.
