A gadget that weighs 76 Kg? Where are the days where the definition of gadget meant a small and nifty item... These days, literally everything is a gadget, especially according to our gadget specialist Polly Allcock.

You could try being constructive rather than snarky. What word would you use?

If you read Polly's articles, you will see that nearly all of them have at least one instance of the word gadget. Even articles about televisions, or even... cars. Yes, Polly called a car a gadget.

Apart from calling literally everything a gadget, there's a complete lack of writing creativity. Because there is absolutely no need to keep naming the thing that you are writing about. As soon as the product has been introduced, one assumes that the rest of the article is about said product.

Imagine an article about a camera. How bad would it be if every sentence started with "the camera has", "the camera can", "the camera does". This is exactly what Polly does and for some reason it really unnerves me.

No need to be snarky indeed, but most of my previous comments were not only ignored, but also deleted. I guess I should just accept that this site is no longer what it used to be, and leave for greener pastures.
