United States to ban export of cybersecurity tools and software to countries with "authoritarian practices"

A new rule from the U.S. Department of Commerce prohibits the sale or export of cybersecurity-related software and hardware to specific countries. Citing national security and anti-terrorism reasons, the rule bans exports to governments the U.S. deems "authoritarian," including China and Russia.
