I see no reason for laptop manufacturers to be dropping Ethernet ports in chassis like this with USB A. If you can fit a USB A, you can fit an Ethernet.

It's a matter of value, USB ports have more value than ethernet ports. This laptop has 1 USB-C and 3 USB-A, if you put in an ethernet (which is actually larger about 20-30% than a USB-A) you would be down to 2 USB-A ports, if you use USB-C for charging. 1 port for mouse leaves you with only 1 usable port. If you use it as a desktop replacement, it would be 0 ports left.

The addition of USB-C effectively means manufacturers need to cover both A and C. Which leaves little room for other ports like ethernet.

You know... There are older people who want computers with the DVD drive so it's easier to get programs on the computer or watch a DVD or play a CD. We all don't want a THIN & LIGHT computer we want a USEFUL computer!!!
